NYIPT presents a 2 hour Virtual Continuing Education Course for Social Workers

with

Dr. Jill Bellinson

Sunday January 24, 2021 10am-12pm

Finding ways to interact with young children represents an enormous challenge. We can’t see them — by intent or internet glitch; we long to create interactive play scenes; we wish we could intervene physically to resolve painful or frustrating situations.

This workshop will describe methods of relating to young children in audio and video platforms, including structured modalities like Whiteboard and Minecraft, as well as ways to translate classical play therapy interactions into nondirective Zoom play.

After completing this workshop, participants will be able to

  • Describe three methods of connecting therapeutically with young children when we can’t be in the same physical space.

  • Describe benefits and disadvantages of working in video modalities when we can’t be in the same physical space
