NYIPT Mission
Our mission is realized by providing low-fee psychotherapy training to qualified mental health professionals in all areas of child therapy. NYIPT is chartered by the Board of Regents of the NYS Department of Education. We are also approved to provide Continuing Education credits to social workers.
NYIPT also provides fee-for-service training options to mental health
workers at various agencies and schools, and to grandparents, parents,
teachers and children in a variety of settings, including libraries,
churches and synagogues, and schools. Our goal is to train those who are
in a position to help children overcome adverse experiences of trauma,
manifested in feelings of anxiety, helplessness and depression.
In addition, NYIPT has been administering several
grant-supported programs at various family service agencies to provide
training for foster care parents. We also
provide consultation, supervision and training to therapists who work
dyadically with children and parents whose children are at-risk or have
already been placed in foster care.
